Poland Past & Present

This 106 page booklet was published in 1970 in commemoration of the 175th anniversary of the Incorporation of the town of Poland. The booklet contains detailed descriptions of many of the homesteads in Poland as they existed in 1970. It’s relatively easy to determine the locations since the text takes the form of turn-by-turn descriptions of the major roads in Poland. Many of the passages contain anecdotal historical data about the properties: For example - refer to page 31 for a lengthy history of the location once known as ‘Rolly’s Camp’ (site of the former Elan School). This book contains hundreds of similar descriptions if you take the time to follow along with the text.
