"Tripp Lake Association, in conjunction with the Maine DEP, and Androscoggin County Soil and Water Conservation District is conducting an area wide Watershed Survey around Tripp Lake on Friday May 22, 2026. The survey will involve professional technical leaders, volunteers from Tripp Lake Association as well as 14 Poland High School students, under the direction of PHS's Biology and Maine Forestry teacher Patrick Martin. This work will look to fix non-point source run-off into the lake which can add phosphorous and other dangerous chemicals that can cause algae growth and otherwise degrade the lake. This effort will help to protect Tripp Lake for future generations of all Poland's residents, as it's home to our Town of Poland public beach. We ask anyone to reach out to us at TrippLakeME.org on our contact page with questions, or if you are interested in volunteering for future projects."
