Invasive plant removal

Invasive plant removal

On November 21, members of the Poland Conservation Commision and Poland Trails cut and removed a substantial amount of the Asiatic Bittersweet invasive plants. The area they worked on is next to the Poland administration complex and abuts the Heart of Poland trail system. This is a critical step that will have to be repeated to contain this invasive plant problem. Deb Perkins owner of First Light wildlife habitats donated her time with instructions to the volunteers regarding the correct procedures in the removal process. Other areas in Poland that have invasive plants will be addressed in the years ahead.
