2019 W. Ballard Nash, Sr. Community Service Award

W. Ballard Nash, Sr. was a dedicated citizen of Poland whose time and talent brought many positive changes to our community.  In his memory, each year on the occasion of the Annual Town Meeting, the Board of Selectpersons take a moment  to acknowledge a citizen who has put forth the same dedication, time, and talent to help make Poland a better community.

The 2019 recipient of the W. Ballard Nash, Sr. Community Service Award goes to a citizen who dedicated his time and service to the community of Poland.  The recipient of today’s award played a significant role in defining the character of our town for the past 24 years.  This person passed away unexpectedly on May 5, 2018 and was a great loss to the Town of Poland and the Androscoggin Sheriff’s Office.

Therefore, on behalf of the Board of Selectpersons and the citizens of Poland we proudly present Poland’s 2019 W. Ballard Nash, Sr. Community Service Award to:  Dennis Sampson in recognition of his leadership and service to the community of Poland.

Dennis' wife Celeste, son Jeremy, sister Anne, and Chief Deputy Gagne were present to receive the award on Dennis' behalf.
