Licensing Your Dog

Dog owners in Poland are required by state law to license their dogs no later than when the dog reaches the age of 6 months or no later than 10 days after taking ownership of a dog. Owners must show a current rabies certificate and proof of neutering/spaying, if applicable.

How do I license my dog in Poland?

Dogs may be licensed via mail by providing a copy of the dog's current rabies certificate and proof of neutering/spaying, if applicable, along with the required fee. Please mail the information and check or money order to Town of Poland, 1231 Maine St. Poland, Maine 04274.

Deadline: January 31st of each year.

Fees

  • Male/Female: $11.00
  • Male/Female (Neutered/Spayed): $6.00
  • Kennel License: 1-10 Dogs, $42.00. Facility must meet all Town Ordinances and be approved by the Animal Control Officer before the license can be issued.

Per State law, after January 31st of each year, a $25.00 late fee will be added to EACH license for all dogs not licensed by the age of 6 months and after 10 days of ownership.
