Lend a Hand by Volunteering:
"You can not do all the good the world needs, but the world needs all the good you can do."
Donate time: Our department can always use a hand with projects. Projects can vary in time and type. Please inquire if you would like to volunteer some time! i.e. organize and inventory equipment, paint town hall, work on ball fields.
· Coach a soccer, baseball, football, basketball, softball, or cheering team. It takes many kind hearts to coach kids.
· Instruct a class: We are always looking for new instructors to teach classes.
· Supervise a program:
Mentoring Supevisor: We are hoping to begin a mentoring program in the fall of 2009. This program will be run through Big Brothers Big Sisters as a pilot program after school. We are looking for adults that could volunteer to supervise the program. There will be training and background checks required to participate.
· Manage Concessions: One of the ways we support our soccer, football and baseball program is by operating concessions. We can always use help from honest, kind and organized volunteers.
Volunteer @ Poland Recreation sponsored events:
· Pumpkinland Day @ Harvest Hill Farms: taking admissions or handing out goody bags
· Halloween Extravaganza: Volunteers to decorate, operate games, bake food items, and clean up
· Tree Lighting: baked items, food, someone to lead in caroling and volunteers to clean up
- Winter Wonderland Ball: Decorating, baked goods, food donations, event attendents, clean up
- Heritage Day: Help setting up event, run a carnival game, clean up
