1983 Ford 1800 Tanker
The Town of Poland is accepting bids for a 1983 Ford 800, 1800 gallon tanker. See spec sheet below with what equipment and features are included. The mileage is 17,471 and the hours on the engine are 2,631~the vehicle is being sold as is, where is, with no warranties expressed or inferred. This unit is still currently in service and we have good maintenance records.
All bidders must include a non-refundable, certified bank check (or equivalent, but no personal checks) of 10% of the bid amount with their sealed bid. Sealed bids should be clearly marked “Poland Tanker Bid.” Bids will be opened on November 30th @ 2:00 pm (local time) at Poland Fire Rescue Station 33 Poland Corner Road Poland, Maine. Bid information will then be considered at the 12/07/10 Selectmen’s meeting. Unsuccessful bidders will receive their deposits back promptly.
Successful bidder will be required to make full payment and remove the Tanker no later than 12/21/10 or forfeit their deposit.

* The pump was realigned and completely overhauled in 1997.
* The engine went out on 1998 to be refurbished, while out they put on a new poly tank, a new battery box and all new electrical wiring in the cab behind the seat.
*Engine 6 has an 1800 gallon tank that sits on a 1983 Ford Chassis. The truck has a 7.0L V8 with a five speed manual transmission with a two speed rear-end.
*It has a Hale front mount pump that has been downgraded from 1000 GPM to 500 GPM. The pump has a two and a half inch intake, and four inch large diameter intake. It also has four two and a half inch discharges, three on the pump and one out the rear. The pump has a cover for the winter season.
*There are four compartments for spare SCBA bottles, two on each side over the rear axle.
*There are three large diameter dump chutes that measure nine and a half inches across. There is one on each side of the apparatus behind the rear axle and one straight out the rear. They are all manual operation.
*All six tires are fairly new with minimal miles on them.
*Batteries where just replaced.
*This fire apparatus is very well maintained. Everything is pulled from the compartments and cleaned twice a year, it is waxed twice a year, the chassis is greased twice a year and is swept out and washed after every call that it responds on. The apparatus is serviced once a year with an oil and filter change, fuel and air filters both changed, and a Maine State Inspection.
