Town Manager Report
January 5th, 2010
1) Re-drafted OBW ideas / researched fees.
2) Continued to refined warrant articles w/ attorneys.
3) Finished pay scale figures for 2010 – 2011 budget.
4) We sent out Payment in Lieu of Taxes letters to non-profits asking them to support basic services, also will be pursuing broken LPIAs in mid-January (notices were sent to those people in arrears. We also are in the final days of collection of the 2008 liens that will mature into foreclosures.
5) Rose revamped 3 old municipal computers for use at the Library by the public.
6) Have been conducting all the senior staff evaluations.
7) Have been putting in budget information for the first (internal) draft of the budget and held the Listening Session on 12/30/09.
8) Have met with Commissioner LaBonte and Chief Bosse about the future of ASO Dispatching.
9) The clerks received a lot of appreciation for their efforts on the Toys for Tots and Holiday Food Pantry push.
10) Worked with John Cleveland on some final efforts on the feasibility studies, especially with regard to using the tank at the Poland Spring Resort – no luck there.
11) We are still getting donations for the Winter Wellness Fund (Hackett Fund), which is very much needed as General Assistance remains quite active.
12) We are going to authorize some time on Fridays during the slow mid-winter months for Kathy and Heather to get some of the scanning of old records done to avoid storage problems and the need for more lateral files.
13) Met with school on the final audit numbers, and will be asking Ron Smith to attend on 1/19. Both McFalls and Minot were deemed to owe Poland money associated with the RSU formation (about $20k each).
14) Attended the joint Library Trustees Meeting w/ BOS and BOA.
15) Recovered from illness for several days.
