Met with Superintendent of Schools to discuss the upcoming school budget and whether they were going to want to pay Poland to continue plowing and sanding schools. They are now paying us on a per hour basis for the balance of the winter.
Conducted two budget workshops to arrive at recommended budget amounts. ** I want to apologize if I put anyone in a tough position by including my idea for modified closed-ended articles into the recent newsletter. As we discussed at our first meeting, we need to be very conservative and entrust the Budget Committee and Selectboard to put forward budget amounts and service levels appropriate for the times and the taxpayers’ ability to pay. I certainly respect the decision to not adopt the option that I put forward.
Did some research regarding the historic nature of the Town Hall and whether any portions of our building codes applied to an existing, “grandfathered” building.
Wrote numerous drafts and re-drafts of the warrant articles.
Worked with attorney on what will happen to the RSU Central Office building if they did decide to vacate the building.
Working with the new engineer to start the Rte 26 water main design. Probes and survey are scheduled to start in early March. Preliminary design should be complete by mid to third week of March.
Not much activity thus far on Gun Club proposals.
The Phase I environmental contract (and asbestos testing) is now underway on the Gun Club.
Attended and participated the in the Public Hearing of the Planning Board relating to proposed changes to the CLUC.
Continued to assist the Library with finding a new trust management entity.
We finalized the Town Report and sent it to the printer.
Worked with Jim Scott on advertising the sale of the 2000 GMC one-ton (w/ plow and sander). People may get bidding information at the Town office if interested.
Had a great turnout at the Business After Hours at NE Bank.
