Annual Town Meeting Election will be held on April 5, 2013. We will be voting upstairs at the Poland Town Hall and the polls will be open from 8AM-7PM.
Registering to Vote - You may register to vote anytime during regular business hours and also on election day prior to entering the polls. Persons registering to vote must provide documented proof of Poland residency (physical address) and proof of identity (i.e. driver’s license/picture ID).
Absentee Ballots - Absentee ballots are available 30 days before an election.
- A voter may vote in person at the Town Office.
- A voter may do a telephone request by calling the Town Office and ask that an absentee ballot be mailed to them. This request must be made by the voter only.
- A voter may request in writing that an absentee ballot be mailed to them.
- A ballot can be requested by a voter’s immediate family member. An application is required to be filled out.
Immediate family means a person’s spouse, parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, sister, half-sister, brother, half-brother, stepparent, step grandparent, stepchild, step grandchild, stepsister, stepbrother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, guardian, former guardian, domestic partner, the half-brother or half-sister of a person’s spouse, or the spouse of a person’s half-brother or half-sister.
Written request by the voter received in the mail, by fax, or in person designating a 3rd person. The voter must fill out an application and the ballot is issued to the 3rd person named in the request only. A 3rd person cannot be a candidate or a member of a candidate’s immediate family.
For those voters voting by absentee ballot thank you for voting in a timely fashion. For all other voters see you on election day if not before!!
