How do I obtain a hunting license?
In order to obtain an adult hunting license for the first time, one must provide proof of a hunter safety course, a previous hunting license, or sign an affidavit stating that one has held an adult firearms license since 1976. A junior hunting license is available for children between the ages of 10 and 15, when they are accompanied by a parent or guardian or adult 18 years of age or older who possess a valid hunting license.
Hunting & Fishing Licenses
The Town Clerk’s office acts as an agent for the State in dispensing hunting and fishing licenses. A duplicate license may be issued if your license has been lost for a $2.00 fee

In order to obtain an archery license for the first time, one must provide proof of an archery safety course, a previous archery license, or sign an affidavit stating that one has held an adult archery license since 1980, where and when.
The requirements for a junior hunting license are that a child is 10-15 years of age. A junior hunter (when hunting) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian or an adult 18 years of age or older who possesses a valid hunting license or has successfully completed a hunter safety course.

Lifetime Over 70 Licenses
Lifetime Over 70 Licenses are available for all Maine residents over 70 years of age for the price of $8.00. If you are turning 70 within the year, you may get your~Lifetime Over 70~license at the beginning of the year, you do not need to wait until your birthday.
